Brief

To redesign and improve the content-heavy unionlearn website, making it easier to navigate while looking great on desktops, laptops and mobiles. The site also needed to improve it's presence in search engines.

As well as developing this new site, unionlearn also want continuous support to create new features and to  review and adjust as the website evolves.

Client

Unionlearn is the learning and skills organisation of the Trades Union Congress (TUC). Unionlearn works to assist unions in the delivery of learning opportunities for their members, as well as managing the Union Learning Fund (ULF).

Union learning helps people acquire skills and qualifications to boost their job prospects and improve their employability.

Solution

After some initial scoping workshops, we developed a new information architecture and content structure to help users navigate this large website  We developed the website in Drupal, a powerful open source CMS that can manage the amount and different types of content.

We work with unionlearn on an ongoing basis to develop new features, such as new online learning facilities and the big data-driven careerzone.

An ongoing partnership

We've been working closely with unionlearn for years. This is the third generation of website we've been supporting them with and the second we've built.

As well as working on the website, we provide consultancy and project management on a range of other initiatives.
